Created by Alcon & Ciba Vision, Air Optix plus HydraGlyde are monthly contact lenses made with HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix technology to keep eyes hydrated. This coupled with silicone hydrogel makes these lenses ideal for those who struggle with dry eyes or require a monthly lens that gives them protection from irritants and deposits.
These silicone hydrogel contact lenses are a part of the Air Optix range, which offers enhanced comfort due to the inclusion of HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix technology. This technology keeps your contact lenses moist and comfortable to wear for even longer.
The long-lasting hydration provided by these lenses makes them ideal for those who experience dry eyes as a result of spending long hours in front of a computer screen. When coupled with the highly breathable silicone hydrogel material of these lenses, this technology makes sure your eyes are feeling fresh and healthy all day long.
SmartShield technology provides a protective layer, making Air Optix plus HydraGlyde lenses ultra-resistant to any build-up of protein or dirt, keeping vision undisturbed and eyes free from irritation.
As a monthly contact lens, Air Optix Plus HydraGlyde can be worn for up to 30 days, providing that a good contact lens hygiene routine is followed.

HydraGlyde is a wetting agent designed to attract moisture to the surface of the lens, to retain hydration and reduce the feeling of dry and gritty eyes.
Air Optix plus HydraGlyde can be worn for 30 consecutive days as daily wear lenses, however, they should only be worn for 16 hours at a time and must be removed before sleeping.
Air Optix Plus HydraGlyde can be worn as extended wear contact lenses if approved by your optician. If your eye care professional agrees that they can be worn as extended-wear contact lenses, then they can only be worn for up to 6 nights.
Although Air Optix plus HydraGlyde and Air Optix Aqua are the same lenses, the main difference is the technology they use. Air Optix HydraGlyde uses HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix technology, while Air Optix Aqua uses an Aqua Moisture System. HydraGlyde lens caters to a broader power range and has more advanced technologies such as SmartShield.
Depending on your needs, comfi Air is an alternative monthly contact lens. Other contact lenses you can try include comfi Purest 1 Day and Dailies Total 1, both of these are daily contact lenses.
Disclaimer: If you wish to try alternative contact lenses you will need to consult your optician to make sure they are suitable for you and are fitted correctly.
